PLEASE NOTE: This is pure sodium perborate and has not been pre-mixed with cheap fillers.
Sodium Perborate serves as a source of active oxygen in many detergents, laundry detergents, cleaning products, and laundry bleaches.
It is an important ingredient of many laundry detergent powders, laundry bleach additive products, mildew removers, wood deck bleaches, textile bleaches, vat dye oxidation, carpet cleaners and automatic machine dishwash powders. Sodium perborate is also used as a tooth whitener in toothpastes, as an antiseptic, as a deodorant, and as a reactive agent (reagent) in industrial processes. It is used in a number of general cleaning products in the institutional and industrial marketplace.
It is an excellent stain remover for grass, flower and shoe polish stains on a multitude of surfaces including leather.
It is also present in some tooth bleaching formulas. It is used as a bleaching agent for internal bleaching of a tooth that has had root canal treatment. The sodium perborate is placed inside the tooth and left in place for an extended period of time to allow it to diffuse into the tooth and bleach stains from the inside out. It has antiseptic properties and can act as a disinfectant. It is also used as a "disappearing" preservative in some brands of eye drops.
For Mildew removal: Mix 1 to 2 tablespoons of sodium perborate with 1 pint of water. Use hot water if it is safe for the fabric; otherwise use lukewarm water. Sponge the stain or soak the stained area in the solution, or sprinkle the dry powder directly on the dampened stain. Let solution or powder remain on the stain 30 minutes or longer, then rinse thoroughly.
